The Principle and Criteria of Civility in Islamic Management

Message:
Abstract:
When we study Islamic sources we fully realize that Islam is not only concerned with man’s spiritual aspects, morals, people’s piety and relationship with God but also with their social relations and running social affairs, etc. Since the manager do thing through has some other people, it is necessary for him to have meaningful, intelligible and clear relations with them. Managers should work as hard as possible to strengthen their relations with their staff and people. According to the religious approach, the kind of relations between managers and the staff and the way bosses deal with their subjects depend on manager's axiological and cognitive construct. According to Islam's axiological and cognitive perspective some features and principles are taken care of with regard to manager's and bosse's behavior. If managers can have a general acquaintance with these principles, they will, without doubt, be successful in building relations with their staff. One of the main principles is civility. Prophets and the Fourteen infallible Imams can be good examples for the managers of Islamic society. Using a documentary method and relying on religious sources, the present paper tries to study the principle and criteria of civility, which has a remarkable status in Islamic management.
