Relationship between two types of organizational citizenship behaviors and personality factors
Abstract:
This research has been carried out to investigate the relationship between two types of organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBI and OCBO) and personality dimensions among managers and staffs of Seven Diamonds and Steel Alborz Industrial Companies in Tehran.
Method
This study has been conducted based on survey. 200 managers and employees of mentioned companies were selected randomly to form the statistical samples. Results of Pearson Correlation and regression analysis indicate that agreeableness, extraversion and openness to experience were significantly and positively related to OCBI and also agreeableness was positively related to OCBO. Significant negative relation was found between Neuroticism and OCBO. Results of Regression analysis demonstrates that, agreeableness and neuroticism predict the OCBO. Conclusion
this study revealed that personality dimensions are related to organizational citizenship behaviors and personality dimensions can be used to predict these behaviors in organizations.Language:
