Abstract:
Rain is an Ahuric phenomenon in Iranian myth. It seems that the rise of this myth is caused by the weather conditions in the Iranian plateau. “Tištar”، the myth of rain is mentioned in Avesta and most of the Middle-Persian texts but none of these texts have ever referred to Dādestān ī Dēnīg. The opinion of Manuchehr، the son of Jawān-Jam and the author of Dādestān ī Dēnīg on myth of rain and the role of “Tištar” is stated in this article.
