Statistical analysis of homicides in Yazd with emphasis on the city of Yazd in the years 2006‐2009

How is murder statistics in the city of Yazd, Yazd province, especially in the years 2006 to 2009? In this paper, the statistical description of first‐degree murder in the years 2006 to 2009 is presented. The research method is analysis of documents and the data is collected particularly form the Department of Social Affairs of Yazd police. Based on these findings, causes and motives of murder in Yazd Province are respectively moral issues, family issues, theft, financial and real estate disputes, gang violence, drug abuse and mental illness. Moral issues and family issues are among the reasons of more than half of first‐degree murders in Yazd province.
