Iran Science Production in 2010

According to the number of scientific documents indexed in the institute for scientific information (ISI), Iran›s contribution in the science production has been studied during 2010. The immediate results show that Iran›s science production has been promoted from 1. 01 percent in 2009 to 1. 12 percent in 2010. Iran was among 22nd science producer countries of the world in scientific ranking. The total number of indexes in 2010 has been decreased 3% in the world in compare to pervious year; whereas Iran number of Indexes has been improved 8 percent. In this year, the number of Iranian scientific documents indexed in science are 18034 (1. 28% of the world value) in social science, 652 (0. 30% of the world value) in art and humanity sciences, 77 (0. 07% of the world value) and totally is 18319 (1. 12% of the world value). The number of Iranian indexes in 2010 has been improved 8% comparing to pervious year, which is the 1/3 value of improvement in 2009 (25%) relative to 2008. «Chemistry, Multidisciplinary» has the first position of productive in science and «Materials Science, Multidisciplinary» and «Engineering, Electrical & Electronic» were improved to the second and third positions. In 2010, University of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical Science, Tarbiat- Modarres University and Sharif University of Technology are the first four universities in science production by 1869, 1448, 1111 and 1051 documents indexed in ISI, respectively.
