Hyperactivity: Proper Methods of Interaction with Hyperactive Children

Abstract:
Hyperactivity disorder has been described as impulsivity and the lack of paying attention which usually starts at the age of 7. Researches, usually, use the teachers’ reports to diagnose this disorder. Since most parents and teachers are not familiar with these students’ behavioral, emotional and educational problems, they, usually, face multiple problems interacting with these students. In this research, the goal is to present strategies for the proper interaction between parents and hyperactive children at home and the teachers in the classrooms in connection with the student’s peculiar academic needs, the role of play in the reduction of hyperactivity disorder and suitable classes for children and teaching them anger management. The results of the research indicated that despite the presence of biological and medical progress, parents and teachers having interaction with hyperactive children are still maintaining their special place and status in creating focus, the reduction of impulse without attaching any labels to the child and the control of this disorder. We hope that the outcome of this research will be a guide to parents and teachers in their interaction with hyperactive children so that our children can develop their talents through having the proper feedback as a result of interaction with the atmosphere and the informed people around them and use their capabilities and enjoy their existence.
