A Review of Speed Limit Increment Effects on Road Network in Iran

Speed limitation regarding road class and its function is one the most important issues in road transportation. Many countries have executed speed limitation regulation due to its effects on safety، environment and road capacity. In Iran، concerning the construction of freeways and expressways have been noticed by the transport authorities and involved، the increase of speed limit has been propounded. In this paper، the effects of speed limit increment have been studied and the results have been presented as proposals regarding the current situation of road network in Iran.
