Factors determining knowledge-sharing tendency and knowledge-sharing behavior

Abstract:
In today’s knowledge-based economy, the success of organizations is affected by their ability to manage their invisible capitals. As country’s governmental organizations need to maintain and use their employee's experiences, this study aims to explore and identify determining factors of knowledge-sharing tendency and knowledge sharing-behavior among the employees in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mining. This paper is practical and descriptive correlative (regression analysis). In order to collect data, 107 questionnaires were distributed among the employees of the ministry, collected and analyzed. Correlation analysis results show that there is a significant and positiveRelationship between all determining factors being investigated including anticipated reciprocal relationships, perceived self-efficacy, expected extrinsic rewards, organizational climate and attitude toward knowledge-sharing with tendency to share knowledge. In addition, a significant and positive relationship exists between the willingness to share knowledge and the level of ICT usage with knowledge-sharing behavior.
