Study of the chemical, physical characteristics and reject coal fertility to use in the agriculture activities

(Case study: Coal washing plant Zarand-Kerman)

Abstract:
Coal mining takes place a great plenty of reject coals which impacts considerable effects on the environment. On the other hands, croplands and bare soils need the addition elements to increase their own fertility and so improve their physical and chemical properties. This study aimed to investigate the chemical, physical and fertility of coal plant reject laundering of Zarand-Kerman in order to use in the agricultural activities. In this study, the physical, chemical and fertility were experimented on the pure coal samples and then, added to light and heavy soils in levels of 5, 10, 25 and 50 ton per hectare with 3 frequencies in the face of green-house implantation of corn. In this study, physical characteristics consist texture, porosity, density and usable water, and chemical characteristics consist anions, cations, saturation extract EC and PH and also, the nutritional properties of coal and mixing them with soil that contain nitrogen, usable phosphorus, soluble potassium and iron, manganese, copper and zinc. In this experiment, the heavy elements such as plumb, mercury and cadmium have been measured in reject coals and stubbles. Results indicate that the usable water deal in the pure coal were little and about 5 percent. Add a more coal to soils led to reduce PH in the mixture. Adding the coal to soils was effective in increasing iron in the light soils and sulfate in the heavy soils in significant of 5 percent. The deals of heavy elements such as plumb, cadmium and mercury are less than the standard level in pure coal. It was seen that adding them to soil and compare with indices, have not effective roles on soils and stubbles in significant.
