A Study of the concept of Faculty Development and the Successful Experiences about Its Planning and Implementing

Abstract:
The pressure for evolution in the quality of higher education outputs caused faculty development. In this paper, international and national findings about Faculty Development explain the concept of faculty development, its factors and standards as well as planning and implementing of Faculty Development. The results of this paper indicate that the faculty development cause individual, organizational and professional improvement and include four factors: 1) Instructional development through creating opportunities for teaching and learning improvement, 2) Professional development through creating opportunities for obtaining research success, 3) Personal development by empowering planning and changing skills and 4) Organizational development through empowering organizational skills.
