Belief in Hijab and the Attitudes Related to it

This paper deals with ‘belief in hijab’ and ‘the attitudes related to it’. In fact, ‘belief in hijab’ and ‘the attitudes related to it’ have been examined by performing a secondary analysis on the data from a previously-conducted survey.The research method is secondary analysis. The data obtained from the poll conducted to find out Tehrani people’s attitudes toward hijab and chastity was reanalyzed in Culture, Art and Communications Research Center. The data analysis was carried out through descriptive and inferential statistical methods. In fact, the present study is an analytical and supplementary approach to the previous research project.The results showed that the respondents valued hijab highly. They also believed that currently hijab is not respected highly. As such, ‘satisfaction with the current state of hijab’ was relatively moderate. Also, the members of the research population believed that the impact of both ‘the external cultural factors on hijab’ and ‘the internal cultural factors on hijab’ is moderate.
