The impact of "behavioral - cognitive bereavement care in Islamic view" on "general health of the bereaved family"

The present study aimed at investigating the impact of behavioral – cognitive bereavement care in Islamic view on general health of the bereaved families. This was a quasi – experimental research which was conducted using control group plus pre – test, post – test and the follow ups. The population included 16 bereaved families that were purposefully chosen among the families referring to consulting centers in Felavarjan in 1390. The families were then randomly divided into two control and experiment groups (each group consisted of 8 families). Experiment group participated in 8 sessions of behavioral – cognitive bereavement care based on Islamic view. Both groups were required to fill out the general health questionnaire (Goldberg, 1972) in pre – test, post – test, and the follow ups. Research data was analyzed applying multi – variable co- variance analysis. The outcome proved a noteworthy difference between the average results of general health items in control and experiment groups (p<0/0005). The findings of the research confirmed the efficacy of behavioral – cognitive bereavement care in Islamic view on general health of the bereaved families and proved that such a remedy could be applied to these families as remedial procedure.
