Survey of relationship between PM10 and plate count heterotrophic microorganisms in the air and dust particles in sanandaj 2012-2013

Abstract:
Introduction
Pathogenic and non- pathogenic microorganisms may be present in dust particles events in air. In this study، the relationship between PM10 concentrations during normal weather conditions and during dust particles events and present of heterotrophic microorganisms as biological indicators of air quality are discussed.
Materials And Methods
In normal weather conditions and dust particles events (PM10> 150µg/m3)، 30 plates، containing sterilized medium were exposed to dust.. PM10 concentrations and climate data were obtained from the respective organizations. data entered in SPSS19 software and by means of ANOVA and paired sample T test were analyzed.
Finding
The difference between the mean of PM10 concentration and mean of CFU (Colony Forming Unit) of bacterial colonies in normal circumstances weren’t observed (p< 0. 961). But this difference in dust particles events is significant (p<0. 000). the difference between the mean of PM10 concentration and mean of CFU of fungi whom growing on the plates surface in both conditions (normal and dust particles events) are significant (p<0. 000). Dominant species of bacteria and fungi، in dust particles events were Mycobacterium sp to the 2/56% of total bacteria and Micosporium sp to the 28/6 of total fungi. Discussion and
Conclusion
Number of microorganisms، especially fungi in dust particles events increased in the air.
