Memetics theory or cultural evolution and relation with Information and knowledge science

Abstract:
Purpose
Genetics deals with the molecular structure and function of genes, gene behavior in context of a cell or organism, patterns of inheritance from parent to offspring, and gene distribution, variation and change in populations. To imitate of Gene, Meme is a cultural replicator; a unit of imitation or communication. This study aimed to explain meme (as basic unit of information), and describe Memetics theory and criteria of fit meme transmission. At the end of article, the role of library and information centers, internet, and social networks in spreed of memes, were explained. Methodology
This study is a documentery research and analytical-review approach was used. Then, compilation of this study used library resources in printed and electronic formats. Findings
Researchers believed memes are information (idea, behavior, symbol, or practice) replicators that spread from person to person within a culture. And Memetics is the theoretical and empirical science that studies the replication, spread and evolution of memes. Result showed library and information centers, internet, and social networks have important roles in spreed of memes, if in education and learning or in process of knowledge transformation. These functions were bold in virtual environment.Keywords:
