The relationship between parent's communication patterns and social adaptability in preschool students

Abstract:
Introductin: The purpose of present research was to investigate the relationship between parent's communication patterns and social adaptability in preschool students.
Method
For this purpose, using multistage random sampling procedure, the researchers recruited 99 preschool students from primary schools in yazd. Data was collected via questionnaires which included the communication patterns questionnaire(CPQ) and adaptive behavior scale (public school version). Data was analysed using pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis.
Results
Findings indicated that mutual constructive communication was positively related to social adaptability, and mutual avoidance of communication and demand / withdrawal was negatively related to social adaptability. Results from regression analysis indicated mutual constructive communication, woman demand / man withdrawal and man demand / woman withdrawal can predict social adaptability.
