Philosophy and Civilization in the Middle Ages: a Report
Abstract:
Philosophy and Civilization in the Middle Ages, by Maurice de Wulf, is a book in which the author has tried to examine the middle ages from a new angle, and to show that it is closely associated with the West culture. Out of all the philosophies, he has chosen and presented scholasticism, which is the most dominant philosophy, and considered its relation with theology. Following this, he has analyzed the impact of theology and philosophy on each other, and the effect of philosophy on the other aspects of civilization such as art, and social and political institutes. The author of the present article is going to give a report of the content of the book chapters. This report is set according to the book framework.
