The Analysis of Symbolic elements in the Story of Zahhak

In Shahnameh, Zahhakis the myth absolute evil. The story ofZahhakis one of the richest and most wonderful stories in Shahnameh. This story is a description of the domination and hegemony of evil and injustice, which lasted for a thousand years. In the story of Zahhak, there are some points which are in accord with both the ideas of great psychologists like Freud, Jung, Ibn Sirin, etc. and Iranian mythical and Symbolic world. This story exploits the mythical themes existing in Avesta.The present article tries to identify the symbols and then to study and analyze them mythologically and psychoanalytically. As these two types of analyses are interconnected, concepts such as totem, taboo, and the unconscious are also taken into account.
