The Experiences of Teachers Participating in the Overseas Schools Assignment Exam
Author(s):
Abstract:
To gain some insight into the experiences of those teachers who participate in the overseas schools assignment examination, a group of 14 successful participants were interviewed mainly on their motives, activities and concerns prior to the examination, and the characteristics of those who are assigned to overseas schools. In addition to these general areas, questions regarding the religious aspects of living in a foreign country were also asked. For example, they were asked if they were worried about the food being halal or not; or whether they could go to Haj from the host country. The responses given are of some use by other participants and the ministerial authorities engaged in the overseas schools program.
