Modern Media and Semantic Understanding of leisure Experience

Abstract:
Leisure meanings are one of the identity meanings In the face of increasing communication media’s have experienced changes. Semantic understanding of leisure experience regarding the media factor can contribute to Media and Media Policy. This research focuses on semantic analysis of youth leisure experience. Research method is qualitative and the technique is narrative interview in which 35 students of Mazandaran University has been interviewed that was selected by purposive sampling. Research findings are showing that media power relations and the underlying ideology in which is encoding commercial texts, influences the youth leisure practice. Practice of media leisure, debilitates real communication and has transferred communication into the cyber networks. Leisure practice in this situation is a kind of personal experience rather than being social. Communicative medias are apparatuses of leisure control; they can also be apparatuses of resistance.
