The effectiveness of Group cognitive-behavioral therapy in increasing of perceived anxiety control in 11-13 girls with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)

Abstract:
This study was carried out to investigate the effectiveness of group cognitive behavioral therapy in increasing of perceived anxiety control in young children with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). This study was design two groups of pretest- posttest. The sample included 32 GAD girls who had major diagnosis of GAD based on DSM-IV-TR. The samples were recruited in two groups (one experimental and one control group) by randomized allocation. The experimental group received cognitive behavioral therapy in 18 sessions، with duration of 90 minutes weekly. The results of the study showed، the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy on increasing of perceived emotion and stress control، but it was not effective on perceived threat control. Cognitive behavioral therapy Would be effective therapy in increasing of perceived emotion and stress control in treatment of children with GAD. However attention on perceived threat control in children''s protocol could be more efficient.
