The Study of Psychometric Properties of Aspiration Index

The aim of the present research was to investigate the psychometric properties of Aspiration Index in a sample of Iranian university students. To do so، 502 undergraduate Langaroud Payame Noor University students were selected by convenience sampling method and were asked to complete Aspiration Index (AI)، Integrative Self-Knowledge (ISK)، Self-Compassion Scale-Short Form (SCS-SF)، Margolis-Thomas Narcissism Scale (MTNS) and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Second order confirmatory factor analyses indicated that the factor structure of the Iranian sample is congruent with factor structure of the American samples (Kasser & Ryan، 1996). In addition، correlation coefficients of the Aspiration Index with other scales were confirmed the convergent and divergent validity of the Aspiration Index، Cronbach''s alpha coefficients also showed the good internal consistency of the Aspiration Index. The results according to Self-Determination Theory and Contingencies of Self-Worth Theory emphasized to on the types of values not only to obtain them.
