Roots of Special Relationship between Britain and the United States

Crisis in Iraq showed in a more prominent form the alliance between Britain and the United States. This article tries to find the roots of this deep cooperation between these two countries. The author believes that these special relationships take its roots from Churchill’s policy. Britain strengthened its political and defense ties with the US because of its fear of communist threat after the Second World War, given its financial shortages. This policy is still pursued by British politicians.
