Cigarettes Consumption as a Gate of Drug Abuse

Smoking and cigarettes permanent consumption caused by common misbelieve in society. The aim of this study is that what are the effects of smoking on the tendency of people to drug abuse? "Gateway hypothesis" is one of the theories about addiction and drug use. According to this hypothesis, the use of drugs, is started with legal drug abuse and is developed to "hard drug". Review of the documents showed that smoker friends, easy access to cigarettes and free of smoking in public places are specific reason for cigarettes tendency, and other reasons are common in drug use and smoking. Naturally, the presence of specific reasons for tendency to smoke, the common factors make a person susceptible for cigarettes use and simultaneously or after that drug abuse will start. Smoking causes diseases and according to many addicts, drug use started for treating or alleviating the symptoms of these diseases. In addition, smoking can cause changes in behavior, mood and character of consumers and prepares him/her for drugs.
