The relationship between Religious belief and quality of life in veterans amputations
The religious belief is considered as one of the most important factors that can affect the human’s quality of life. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between Religious belief and quality of life of veterans in the city of South Khorasan.
The correlation analysis was used in this study. A sample of 40 amputated veterans were selected by available sampling. Instruments used in this study were: SF-36 quality of life questionnaire and Clark religious belief questionnaire. The validity and reliability were appropriate. Data were analyzed using Pearson''s correlation.
The result showed that there was a significant correlation between religious beliefs and quality of life (r=-0. 0486، P=0. 001). There was an indication of significant relationship between the religious beliefs and physical health (r=0. 405، p=0. 01)، the religious beliefs and mental health (r=0. 442، P=0. 05). Also correlations between religious beliefs and other quality of life components were found except that the correlations between physical health and beliefs، physical health and experience were not significant.
The findings suggest that being religious and believe in a religious principles can have some positive factors impacts on various aspects of people’s quality of life.
