The Relationship between Burnout and General Health of Employees in Central Prison

Working in prison is one of the most stressful vocations which harms general health of employees and is reason for burnout. The aim of present study is to investigate burnout and general health in employees of Kermanshah central prison. The present study is expressive and kind of correlation. Its population includes all employees of central prison in years 2011 weather guard officers or employee staff and was 118 persons، all these people were selected as sample. The participations answered General Health Questionnaire and Geldard''s burnout scale and constructed based researcher of demographic inventory which data were analyzed by regression method. Data showed that there is positive significant of relation between vocational stress and main score of mental health that is significant in level of p> 0. 01. There was significant relation between burnout and bodily signs and stress in level of p>0. 05 and there was significant relation between burnout with depression in of level p> 0. 01 but there was no significant relation between burnout with social activity subscale. According to the results، we can say stressful jobs، including working in a prison mental health repercussion.
