Abstract:
Globalization is a reality of our today’s world. This process has led to sig nifcant changes. The increasing development of various media ranging from satellite and digital networks to the cyber space has transformed the world of communica tions. It is natural that this process brings with itself some opportunities and some threats. Besides pointing to the issue of globalization and the development of the communication era, the present study evaluated the status of the world of Islam in this process and provided strategies for making the best use of the current situation in order to achieve unity in the Muslim world and explicate Islamic standpoints. Enhancing media literacy, promoting media convergence in the Muslim world and explicating genuinely Islamic standpoints are among the measures that can be put on the agenda of media globalization. The present study was conducted based on a descriptiveanalytical research design and through an extensive literature survey of library and internet resources.
