Classification of Advanced Training Jet Airplane by Using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Taxonomy Method

Abstract:
Training the cadets of military aviation is carried out at three levels of primary¡ basic and advanced which is followed by advanced fighter and training squadron. Due to the lack of advanced training jet in our country¡ the cadets directly enter the fourth stage (entrance to fighter) in which a one-hour training costs 5 to 10 times more than the advanced training jet (in the third stage)¡ affecting the training quality and increasing the financial burden. As a result¡ this makes it quite clear that involving and using this kind of aircraft are of paramount importance. In this study¡ the crucial features and criteria that an advanced training jet needs to possess were investigated. To determine the afore-mentioned features¡ a set of multi-valued indicators in terms of their efficiency¡ safety¡ maintenance and logistics were considered. These indicators were categorized as six distinct groups of base¡ efficiency¡ safety¡ systems¡ navigational equipment¡ and maintenance and ultimately thirty criteria and sub-criteria have been extracted. In this article¡ in addition to specifying the standards for choosing the advanced training jet¡ Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) as well as Taxonomy has been utilized for ranking the world''s advanced training jets. Furthermore¡ the merits and drawbacks of these two procedures have been stated.
