Specific Gradation of Being from Agha Ali Mudarres's Standpoint

The problem of “gradation of being” is one of significant among philosophical questions. In transcendent philosophy it has precise and especial formulation. Commentators of Mulla Sadra have presented different versions of it. Agha Ali Mudarres’ version is perhaps of the most exact commentary on the issue. Defending the view of specific gradation of being and explain its various implications, he call into question the view of individual unity of being by mystics. In his different works Agha Ali Mudarrres has dealt with the divisions and hierarchical levels of being on the basis of the view of specific gradation, subjecting the mystical outlook of individual unity of being to serious criticisms.
The present article is an attempt to give an exact account of his view by consulting his different works, and finally provide a brief examination the problem in question.
