The Impact of DFIG Based Wind Turbines in Power System Load Frequency Control with Hydro Turbine

Abstract:
With the increasing penetration of wind turbines, this type of energy conversion systems, Have not a role in controlling the frequency. This task is mainly the responsibility of the traditional turbines. Ability of DFIG based WT for product power in different mechanical speed and release mechanical storage energy by Reduce speed, can regulated system frequency in support of traditional turbines. In this paper, investigated the role of DFIG based variable speed wind turbine for control and regulate the system frequency with despite the different wind penetration in single area power system including hydro turbine. Achieve this possible by optimal tuning the DFIG based WT speed controllers with despite the different wind penetration. And it is cause improved automated generation of hydro turbine appropriate to energy released from wind turbine with despite the different wind penetration in response to a disturbance enters the system. For optimization the wind turbine controllers, proportional with penetration of wind generation, techniques integral squared error have been used in order to minimize the error of the system frequency.
