Investigation of Thickness Effect of Films on Performance of Dye Sensitized Solar Cell Based on ZnO and SnO2 Nanoparticles

Message:
Abstract:
In this study, the photo-anodes of dye sensitized solar cells were fabricated through doctor blade method. In this method, the zinc oxide and tin dioxide nanoparticles were used separately. In preparing of photo-anodes any layer were deposited once, twice, three and four times and sensitization carried out using N719 dye deposition for all photo-anodes. The structure and morphology shape of nanoparticles obtained using X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Efficiency parameters, such as short-circuit current density, open circuit voltage and fill factor of the current-voltage curve of cells were studied as well. The results based on the characterization of the current – voltage, show that the three times deposited layers of photo-anode through doctor blade method for both nanoparticles of metal oxides have the highest efficiency, about 3.83 and 2.24, for zinc oxide and tin dioxide respectively.
