ESTIMATING THE NUMBER OF MISSING FEMALES IN MAZANDARAN PROVINCE ON THE 2011 CENSUS AND ITS ROLE ON FERTILITY AND POPULATION GROWTH IN THE FUTURE

The issue named "Missing Females" is intertwined with the concept of sex ratio in a population, so that a considerable amount of the texts focused on the missing female directly or indirectly refer to sex ratio, and this is nothing but discrimination and misbehavior against the females in these societies. In this study, west model tables are used as a criterion to estimate the number of missing females in Mazandaran Province in 2011. Based on life expectancy at 72 years for the Mazandaran female in this year, the level of 21 tables mentioned was selected and compared with the real sex ratio extracted from the 2011 census data. The result shows that 26798 females in Mazandaran were lost in 2011. In other word, if Mazandaran Province experienced unbiased sex ratio and the ordinary pattern of mortality in all age groups, the number of missing female should be added to the total population of Mazandaran province. As a result, the real population of Mazandaran province in 2011 is estimated about 3100741 people. The missing female phenomenon followed demographic, social and even political consequences. The consequences of this phenomenon, affects the volume and future population growth through fertility, because these women lose fertility for all the future generation.
