Author(s):
Abstract:
At the present, structure of international system is featured by the continuation of U.S. dominance and its determinant power. Also, the Middle East is encountering with a new structure of relationship among powerful countries in economic and military dimensions in the 21st century. The central idea of this article is that although the United States has demonstrated unilateral inclinations in different periods of global and regional conditions, the new realities of the Middle East implies addressing a comprehensive approach in order
to explain the issue of the national security in the region. The main question of this article is whether the present structure of international system paves the way for U.S. dominance. The findings of this article demonstrate that conflict and violence are not
effective instruments to resist against the U.S. unilateralism. Instead mechanisms like tolerance, rationality and interaction may be more useful in order to prevent the consolidation of U.S. dominance in the Middle East.
