Survey in Reza naming changes in Iran (1340 - 1389)

Abstract:
This research surveys changing process in Reza name selection during the last 50 years in Iran based on statistic of national organization for civil registration. Bourdieu view about taste is chosen as theoretical framework of research. According to this theory any behavior and attitude can be explained due to its social nature in following concept of taste. So name selection is also affected due to feature different social tastes in different historical periods and different social context. This research surveys process of name selection changes and some possible reasons. Despite political and social changes and official cultural programs during recent 50 years, approximately the Reza had 2.4 percent of all names and fluctuate between 4th and 14th rank for boys. Increasing in approach to Reza naming in the early 50th could be a sign of changing in thoughts and tastes of Iranians. Despite the spread of religious ideas in the society with the beginning of Islamic Revolution, growth of approach to Reza dropped. Because of increasing in access to various cultural resources, people found new cultural and psychological tastes, so Reza naming encountered with decreases.
