The quality of mental map and social security for present of families in public spheres of city (case study of Tabriz)

Abstract:

Mental maps of each person are rooted in attitudes, values, emotions and motivations. In other word, psychological processes will result in mental representation of external world. Quality of mental map of public spaces is affected by socio- economic, cultural and physical factors. Presence of families in public spaces of cities can be a result of mutual representation of mental map and social security.  The purpose of this study is obtaining the relationship between quality of mental map and social security of families in Tabriz city. The study was conducted using survey method. The data was gathered through a closed questionnaire administered in city of Tabriz, North West of Iran. Citizens have different mental maps about different neighborhoods of Tabriz. These different mental maps have direct impact on social security and presence of families in public spheres. Mental maps of residents of city margins do not produce a good picture of social security about presence of families  in public spaces. The presence of families in public spaces of Tabriz is affected by their spatial selectivity and mental map.
