Great Britain's media law and regulations With emphasis on the BBC and its court cases

In English law, there is no established and comprehensive code about the press and the press is subject to the rules and procedures that are not specifically established for it. In English law, there is not a “press crime” and the press can be the subject of “public law” crimes. This paper examines the legal system of Great Britain and then reviews the historical evolution of the press law. According to this article, three new issues that affected media law in England were the emergence of new media, the Human Rights Act of 1998 and the adoption of new laws on privacy.
In this paper, after reviewing some court cases, I discussed the situation of media regulation and regulatory agencies in Britain. At the end of this article, I will review and evaluate the power of regulatory agencies on British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
