Representations of masculinity in the local TV channelof Ilam

Abstract:
Masculinity is a constructed and historical reality that experienceddifferently among different cultures.The present Research has study the most popular local TV serialsof Ilamchannelin recent years. What makes attention to this subject is importance of this issue in rapidly changingcontext ofthe Ilam province.The main question is what kind of image of men show in the local channelof Ilam. To this end,we used a compilation of structuralism - To study the context of Ilam community- and microscopic conceptual framework - To study the action between people-. A research method isQualitative. To identity the visible and invisibleconcepts in the text, we used coding techniques.sampleing is targeted: hence have selected three series ofpopular local TV Ilam.The results show that this series represent a particular form of masculinity as hegemonic masculinity, and it helped to accept, to give approval and to strengthen this type of masculinity. Also theothermasculinity image, apart from the context of local traditional and patriarchal, of the menis abnormal and peripheral, which eventually has thrown out of the local community.
