Linking Social Capital with Entrepreneurship Intentions of Agriculture Students at the University of Tehran

The aim of this study is to present a model which links social capital to entrepreneurship intentions. Statistical sample is consisting of 201 last-year juniors of agri-science from two agriculture collages at University of TEHRAN (Karaj’s agricultural and natural resources and Aboreihan Paradise). Instrument of this research was a questionnaire. Model parameter estimation is supported by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results of the SEM indicate that there is no relation between the two dimensions of social capital (relational and cognitive) and entrepreneurship intentions, but between structural social capital and entrepreneurship intentions through perceived feasibility variable. The results also indicate that the value of determination coefficient (R2) is 0.42 for entrepreneurship intentions showing that %42 of changes in the variance of entrepreneurship intentions is explained by the student’s social capital.
