Comparison of spiritual health in mothers with healthy children and mothers of children with chronic disease in Kerman 2015-2016

Abstract:
Introduction
The Mother is the most effective factor in provision of physical and spiritual health of the child, which the child's chronic disease can have bad affect on different aspects of the mother's health, especially spiritual health.
Objective
Comparison of spiritual health in mothers with healthy children and mothers of children with chronic disease in Kerman 2015-2016
Method
This cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study on 300 women was conducted in two groups of 150 patients and control group. Sampling groups for easy access and control group was randomly. Collect data using a validated questionnaire Paloutzian&Ellison Valid and reliable done. Data using spss software version 18 and descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, standard deviation) and analytical (Pearson correlation coefficient, Manwhitney) at the significant level of 0/05 Were analyzed.
Results
The results of the study showed that the two groups in terms of demographic variables child's gender (p = 0/90) and mother's job (p = 0/35) The total number of children (p = 0/39) and the birth of the child (patient or healthy) (p = 0/65) showed no significant difference between the two groups. But in terms of other variables between the two groups showed no significant difference. Also high spiritual health than mothers in the control group (% 3/71) was significantly higher than patients group (% 7/26), respectively. Although the two groups in terms of spiritual, religious and spiritual health total score (P = 0/001) had significant differences. As all scores higher in the patient group was the control group subjects had lower levels of spiritual well-being.
Conclusion
What in the existential and religious with spiritual health, the mental health, and physical increased in mothers of children with chronic illness. It seems a comprehensive care program that includes spiritual health, more effective in reducing psychological problems, management mothers of children with chronic diseases.
