Multidimensional Poverty of " Child within Household" in Kerman Province: A Cohort Approach: 1984-2012

This study attempts to investigate multidimensional poverty of child within household in rural and urban area of Kerman province during 1984-2012. In this trend study we used the statistical data on household for measuring multi-dimensional poverty indices, in the current study information theory approach, as formulated by Maasoumi and Logo, and weak focus approach on poverty of this approach was employed in measuring multidimensional poverty. For analyzing data we used stata and excel software. The multidimensional poverty rate was different across the age groups in urban and rural households with child and is associated with large fluctuations. The highest rate of poverty in urban households was found in 2009. During the first and third development plan in rural and urban areas we have seen a decline in the rate and severity of multidimensional poverty. This trend has increased fourth development plan period (2004-2009). Multidimensional poverty rate of the age groups in 2012 (beginning of the fifth development program) has decreased but poverty gap had associated with fluctuation, in both rural and urban area of province. The present study showed that totally multidimensional poverty was higher and more severe in rural areas compared to urban areas. Research findings can have implications for policy makers about seeking of efficient and effective policies in the field of child welfare.
