Determining Iran's position in the region from the perspective of Knowledge Based Economy based on clustering algorithm

Abstract:
In the current situation , the transition from traditional economic structures toward a knowledge-based economy, that Supreme Leader have mentioned as one of the most important and influential component of the resistive economy, is very important. Given the importance of this issue in the economic outlook, providing an appropriate method to determine the Iran’s position position of the country compared to other countries in the region can be very helpful and helps to policy makers in making the right decisions in relation to the provision of infrastructure for economic growth and development. Therefore, in this paper, after explaining the concept of knowledge-based economy and its role and importance in the economic development of the country, the method of clustering analysis was used based on K-mean algorithm in order to attain the objectives of the study. Finally, countries in the region were categorized into four categories including leading, moderate, followers and emerging and Iran's position among the countries determined based on the index were studied.
