The effect of planting pattern on yield and yield components of linseed in Gorgan region

A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of planting Pattern on yield and yield components of oil linseed at the agricultural research station of Gorgan (Araqi Mahalleh) in 2012-2013. Experimental treatments were row distances at three levels: 30, 45 and 60 cm and three within row distances (5, 10 and 15 cm). A factorial experiment was performed based on a randomized complete block design with three replications. The results of this study indicated that row spacing had a significant effect (p≤0.01) on seed yield, harvest index, thousand seed weight, number of heads per square meter, head weight per plant and oil percentage. The highest grain yield (3426kg per ha) was observed at planting patterns 30 cm by 5 cm and lowest yield (1765 kg/ha)was seen at planting pattern of 60 cm by 10 cm. Based on the results of the present study, linseed yield might be increased by determining suitable planting pattern.
