Abstract:
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) are including systems used for separation of explosive mixtures that has advantages solvent role for increasing of resolution potency and low sample volume in use for complex matrices need to improve the selectivity and sensitivity stationary phase. One of the methods to improve selectivity and sensitivity is choosing the appropriate detector. In this article the types of detectors that used in HPLC systems were reviewed to separation and determination of explosive derivatives. The results show low detection limit and high reproducibility for UV-Vis detectors, and the applicability of electrochemical systems with reliable detection limits for electroactive species. Simultaneous use of multiple wavelengths and spectral library by photo diode array detectors is significant advantage for HPLC system. Access to high sensitivity and a complete spectrum of analyte without eluting solvent absorption in infrared range improves capability of HPLC systems. No need for calibration by using nuclear magnetic resonance system converts HPLC to faster method.
