The Mediating Role of Working Life Quality on the Relationship between Spirituality in the Workplace and Employee Productivity in Higher Education

The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of working life quality on the relationship between spirituality in the workplace and employee productivity of all Urmia University Staff. The research method was correlation and statistical population included all (630 people) Urmia University staff in the academic year 94-95 (2015-2016) Out of which 230 were selected by simple random sampling method. To collect the data, the standardized questionnaires of quality of life by Walton (1973), questionnaire of workplace spirituality by Mylymn et al. and questionnaire of employee productivity by Eccio (1980) were used with proper validity and reliability. Data analysis method is structural equation modeling. The results indicate that spirituality in the workplace impacts directly (β=0.15) and indirectly on mediating role of (β=0.70) on employee productivity (β=0.85 in general). Work life quality also has a considerable influence on employee productivity (β=0.79).
