Studying the effect of promotion regulation on the professional growth of faculty members in line with improving university quality
The university, as an educational institution, is considered as one of the most important and main scientific and research centers and is the main source of providing and training skilled and needed human forces for different sections of the society. The nature and the quality of a higher education institution depend on the scientific potential quality of its faculty members. The regulation of promoting faculty member has been codified to keep up university development towards a civilization-making and grounds-preparing university which backs the new Persian- Islamic civilization. The present research, conducted using a descriptive survey, was carried out with the goal of studying the impact of promotion regulation on the professional growth of faculty members in line with improving the university quality. The population was all the 140 IRIB University faculty members and all samples were counted as 103 people filled the questionnaire. The questionnaire of the faculty members regulations, approved in 2010, was used for collecting the date. The judgment of the professors of this course of field was used to determine the validity and the reliability was calculated through Cronbach's alpha which was equal to 95/0. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (one sample T-test and ANOVA test). The results showed that, educational, research and technological, cultural-training- social and scientific- administrative elements have been effective. In addition, the test results showed that there is a significant difference among the four factors of professional development and special areas of humanities, arts and engineering.
