Conceptual Model of individual knowledge sharing in the Islamic Republic of Iran Police Force (Iran's police) based on the Diffusion of Innovations

Technological advancements in recent decades have brought about many transformations leading to the increased creativity among people within the organizations. Innovation as a product of personnel’s creativity is an important concept that plays a major role in achieving goals in organizations, particularly policing agencies, and gaining competitive advantage. An examination of the diffusion of innovations theory is considered as a means to better understand the role of an individual in increasing innovation and creativity. Given to the significant role of innovation and creativity in the excellency of organizations that is added to the manager’s responsibilities, particularly in Iran’s police which is having an interactive relationship with the community, personnel as the most important component of an organization have to take the active action to encourage innovations and share knowledge to assist their organization in fostering facilitating innovation. Taking into account the components effective on knowledge sharing, including organizational culture, interpersonal cooperation and commitment, provides the appropriate context for accepting and diffusing innovation in Iran’s police. In this study, first the theory of “diffusion of innovation” and its elements and characteristics were examined by utilizing the library method and using the experience of varies organizations and elite’s opinion; then, a conceptual model for sharing knowledge in Iran’s police was proposed so that all personnel can use the available information and novel ideas.
