Abstract:
Abu Firas Al-Hamedani is one of the poets in Abbasid era. He has a deep looking into Islam and the religious issues. When in prison, he found an ascetic view to life.
Al-Hamedani lived close to the beginning of Islam. The most researches on him are conducted about his character and some of his odes, but no research has been done on the relationship between his poems and the Holy Quran or Nahjul Balagha, although his poems and words are mostly inspired by these two in the form of borrowing or changing the texts. The poet did this consciously, sometimes in favor of the two and sometimes against them.
