Semantic Reconstruction role of women in family enterprises: Case Study of small and medium Family businesses in Tehran Province

Abstract:
This paper studies family businesses in the province of Tehran, by adopting a cultural approach in the context of economic sociology. It takes a qualitative approach and by use of semi-structured interviews with 25 CEOs of family firms necessary data was gathered. We use coding method to analyze the findings. The purpose of the study is review of the role and status of women in this type of business from the perspective of the respondents. The results show that the role and status of women in the eyes of CEOs, all of whom are men, can be found in the four main categories of gender stereotyping of women's roles, patriarchal management and the formal role of women, women and grading family and Strengthening the role of women. In general, on the one hand, due to stereotypical attitudes about women, the presence or continued presence will prevent them in business. On the other hand, a failure to follow professional management and organizational principles and family considerations provide the areas of women's negative role.
