Colour and colour selections are mostly important and fundamental factor in designing a therapeutic and a healthcare centre. Patients and visitors of a healthcare center are affected by environmental colour design, and thus, a lack of appropriate use of colours in a medical center, is a kind of injustice during the process of recovery. Colours, forms and space are considered as an effective factor to accelerate the recovery and treatment of patients. The precise design with the proper application of colours and lightings in a hospital environment, obligates a lot of important benefits for patient, staff, and visitors over the years. Considering the aspect of aesthetics, color can provide appealing and attractive conditions for patients, visitors and staff. Nowadays, the knowledge of color psychology is a professional necessity for hospital engineers in order to design a better environment. In this paper the principles of color psychology has been reviewed and the solutions for colour design problems in hospital environments are introduced, and finally, the suitable colours in designing public healthcare centers would be suggested
