The Relationship between Knowledge Management and Customer Relations in Police Service (Case study: Dehloran city police department)

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between knowledge management and customer relations in police service. Knowledge management is the process of creating, using and managing knowledge for the purpose of utilizing the intellectual assets, enhancing productivity, creating new values, and increasing customer satisfaction. This is a basic research with quantitative research design. A researcher-made questionnaire was used as the data collection tool and the sampling technique was random. The statistical population consisted of all the personnel working in the Dehloran city police department with determined sample size of 140 individuals. The structural equation modeling (SEM) and F-test were used to test the research hypothesis. The results revealed that there is a direct and significant relationship between knowledge management and customer relations. In other word, the more knowledge management is among police personnel, the more desirable the customer relations is likely to be and better performance is expected. In addition, no significant relationship was found between the underlying variable (age, education, and years of service) and the dependant variable.
