Design of a Gramine-Selective Membrane Sensor

The interaction of organic cation gramine with methyl orange was investigated with the help of thermal studies. These slightly soluble associates were used as electrode active substances (EAS) in plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membranes of ion-selective electrodes (ISE), sensitive to organic cation gramine. The best response characteristics were obtained using the composition: ion pair 7%, 59% TCP 34% PVC.
